ARRIVE IN THESSALONIKI
Arrive in Thessaloniki, the second largest city of Greece in the region of Macedonia.
Transfer to the Grand Hotel Palace on your own. Check-in after 1:00 p.m. Enjoy the day at your own leisure.
Dinner and overnight.
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Depart to Philippi, passing by the Lion of Amphipolis (short stop for photos). We visit Philippi, the site where Paul established a strong church. To this congregation he sent his letter (Acts 16:9-33). We see the river where Lydia is said to have been baptized, the ruins of a prison where Apostle Paul and Sylas had been kept, the Agora, 5th and 6th century Basilica and the Theater. After the visit, we continue to Kavala, the ancient port of Neapolis (Acts 16:11) where we enjoy a panoramic tour before returning to the hotel in Thessalonica for dinner & overnight.
BEREA - ATHENS
Buffet breakfast at hotel. This morning we enjoy a panoramic city tour of Thessalonica (Acts 17:1) where Paul went immediately to the synagogue and for three Saturdays he explained the prophecies of the Old Testament to Jews and Greeks. According to the Book of the Acts many Greeks believed and even many «Greek chief women» (Acts 17:1-4). We go to the upper Old City Walls then drive along the Egnatian Way to see the Triumphal Arch of Galerius and the Rotunda. After our sightseeing drive we make our way to Berea (Acts 17:10-15) where Paul arrived and according to his custom went to the synagogue where he discovered that these Jews were “more noble” than those he had encountered in Thessalonica (Acts 17:10-11). In the late evening, we arrive in Athens. Check-in at Hotel Titania. Dinner & overnight.
ATHENS: ACROPOLIS, PARTHENONMARS’ HILL
EMBARK ON 3 DAYS CRUISE - MYKONOS
After buffet breakfast at hotel, we meet our guide and we climb up to the marble capped Acropolis Hill and visit the famous Parthenon and Erechtheion Temples. We then walk to nearby Mars' Hill (Areopagus) (Acts 17:22) where Paul delivered his soul-stirring sermon to the giants of philosophy, logic and learning and spoke about the inscription: “to an unknown god”. We continue our bus tour with a panoramic sightseeing of the city highlights. Enjoy the rest of the day at your own leisure in Plaka, the oldest and most picturesque district of Athens. Dinner & overnight at your hotel in Athens.
Buffet breakfast at hotel. In the morning we depart for our full day excursion out of Athens, which takes us by the Saronic Gulf via the historic Corinthian Canal (quick stop for photos) to Ancient Corinth (Acts 18:1-18). It was in this megalopolis where the Apostle Paul came, worked and established a thriving church. On our way back to Athens we will pass by the ancient port of Cenchrea, from where the Apostle Paul sailed to Ephesus
Buffet breakfast at hotel. Check-out. At 8:30 a.m. escorted group transfer from the hotel to the port of Piraeus. Embark on the 3-night cruise and sail to Mykonos at 11:30 a.m. Lunch on board. Arrive at 6.00pm in Mykonos and enjoy your evening walking and exploring the pebbled streets of the cosmopolitan Chora and have a coffee in “Little Venice” see the Paraportiani Church and the windmills. Sail for Kusadasi, Turkey at 11:00 p.m. Dinner & overnight on board ship.
Breakfast on board. At 7:30 a.m. our cruise-ship docks at the port of Kusadasi in Turkey, the starting point for our guided shore-excursion to the ancient city of Ephesus, where the Apostle Paul preached and lived for three years (Acts 18:19-21). Free time for souvenir shopping in Kusadasi before we set sail at 1:00 p.m. for Patmos, Greece. Lunch on board. At 5:00 p.m. arrival at Patmos (disembarkation by tender-boats, sea & weather permitting). It is here that the Apostle John wrote the Book of Revelation (Rev 1:9). Guided visit to St. John’s Monastery and the Grotto of the Apocalypse. Sail to Heraklion, Crete at 9:30 p.m. Dinner & overnight on board ship.
Breakfast on board. At 7:00 a.m. arrive at the port of Heraklion in Crete (Acts 27:7-13). We have our guided excursion to the Minoan Palace of Knossos, first European civilization and the legendary home of the Minotaur (half bull and half man). At 12:00 noon sail for Santorini. Lunch on board. Arrive at 4:30 pm. (Disembarkation by tender-boats, sea & weather permitting). Optional guided shore-excursion to visit to the beautiful, picturesque and spectacular village of Oia where only there you can see the famous 3 blue domed churches, or take the cable-car up from the old harbour of Fira to the white washed town of Fira, perched high on the rim of the ancient volcano. Free time for taking photos, browsing, shopping and enjoying the breathtaking view of the caldera. Sail for Piraeus at 9:30 pm. Dinner & overnight on board ship.
At 7:00 a.m. arrive at the port of Piraeus. Disembark after breakfast.
You will be transferred to Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" for your departure flight. DEPARTURE FLIGHTS FROM ATHENS SHOULD NOT LEAVE EARLIER THAN 12:30-1.00 P.M.
